Trump Vs Harris: The Controversy Over 'No Artificial Lifts' Rule In Tuesday Debate: 'A Form of Cheating!'

Ahead of the much-anticipated debate Tuesday night between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, Trump has voiced his opinion on the “no artificial lifts” rule.

What Happened: On Saturday, Trump took to Truth Social to express his views on the prohibition of “artificial lifts” for the upcoming debate.

The encounter at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia will be the first face-to-face encounter between Trump and Harris in a debate.

In his post, Trump stated that “artificial lifts,” which are intended to give Harris a taller appearance, will not be allowed on the debate stage. It is unclear whether this is an official rule set by ABC or merely Trump’s speculation.

“No boxes or artificial lifts will be allowed to stand on during my upcoming debate with Comrade Kamala Harris,” Trump wrote.

He referred to a past incident involving former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who was allegedly denied a “lift” during a debate.

However, Trump’s claim about Bloomberg using a box during the 2020 Democratic primary debate remains unverified.

“We had this out previously with former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg when he was in a debate, and he was not allowed a ‘lift.’ It would be a form of cheating, and the Democrats cheat enough. ‘You are who you are,’ it was determined!” Trump added in his note on the Truth Social.

For the record, Harris has previously claimed to stand at 5’4 and a half, reaching 5’7 and a half with heels. Trump, on the other hand, reportedly stands between 6’2 and 6’3.
