IonQ, Inc. (NYSE:IONQ) shares are trading lower on Thursday.

In fact, shares of companies with the broader tech sector are trading lower amid overall market weakness following a rise in Treasury yields. Investors may be evaluating ongoing global tension related to tariffs and conflict.

According to Benzinga Pro, IONQ stock has gained over 111% in the past year. Investors can gain exposure to the stock via Tidal ETF Trust II Pinnacle Focused Opportunities ETF (NYSE:FCUS).

IonQ is set to participate in expanded quantum programming at SXSW, where executives will engage in discussions highlighting the real-world impact of quantum computing and networking.

The company aims to showcase how these technologies are no longer distant possibilities but are actively delivering value to enterprises today.

Rima Alameddine, IonQ’s Chief Revenue Officer, expressed excitement about joining industry leaders to explore how quantum is transforming businesses and unlocking new possibilities.

“Quantum is here, and IonQ is proud to help our customers unlock its full potential today,” she said.

In addition, IonQ recently announced a major breakthrough in quantum computing with high-speed, mixed-species quantum logic gates.

This advancement is essential for scalable and high-fidelity quantum networking and distributed quantum computing. The company collaborated with the Australian National University to co-author a paper outlining a novel method to significantly improve the speed of two-qubit operations between different atomic species.

Price Action: IONQ shares are trading lower by 7.64% to $20.90 at last check Thursday.
